scotty04901"MDJ to me is an added phase in my recovery as a 44 year survivor of a TBI. I hope that with what I have lived through in those years, will be able to help all those who are just now going through. It is important to understand that even after 44 yrs, I am continuing to recover and to evolve. I just hope I can help others." (scotty04901)

My mom confronted me about it.. it was really awkward and embarrassing, but she set up an apointment with my pediatrician (sp?) for Monday so I'm glad I'll be able to get help now. What should I expect? Also, is anyone else's hands and face really dry and messed up from purging? My knuckles are all red and scabbed and there's raw and red swollen spots on my fingers from putting them down my throat and my cheeks are dry and red from stomach acid touching the skin. Sad

I have one small area on my knuckle that looks odd. Congrats on getting help. When you go, please be honest. they are there to help and not judge.

My chin is really dry and my hands, but no scars or anything.

You doctor will feel for swollen glands and want to know if you are bingeing or just purging, how long, how often. He/she will hopefully ask what sort of help you would like or better yet offer some names of people like a dietician. therapist...day patient program if very serious. It is really hard to be honest the first time you go in as we never talk about this to other people right....but do your best to be as honest as you can. You need to get the appropriate help and you can only do that by being honest. I hope it goes well. I think you are very fortunate to have a mother who will make a md appointment for you so quickly--my mother never ever thought of it!
