Hi Beth

I was diagnosed in Houston; don't know how far you are from there. I had bone and liver mets as well. Thankfully my mets were resolved with chemo; but it they weren't I was going to be sent over to a specialist at the MedCenter (probably MD Anderson). My doc was Dr. Frankie Holmes with Texas Oncology (previously of MD Anderson) and is Co-Director of research with US Oncology (http://www.breastcancerdoc.com/). We are here for you and are praying for your mets to be resolved! I'm here to chat anytime.

hugs

Hello Jessica,

Thanks for responding

I'm 4 hours from San Antonio and about 6 1/2 hours from Houston. But, I truly feel I get great care in McAllen (my center is also the Valley affiliate of Texas Oncology), my oncologist is Dr. Billie Marek. I was very comfortable seeing the Cancer Therapy & Research Cancer in San Antonio this last week. My cancer has always done well at responding to the chemo drugs ... this is actually the first time that I've had a mixed response ... that's why my doctor in McAllen as well as the doctors in San Antonio agree that it is wise to increase the dosage of taxol in synergy with Herceptin will we pray resolve the last lesion in my liver.

My 1st treatment with the increased dosage of taxol was well tolerated as expected. I treated myself to a Starbucks frapachinno this evening ... always feels good to enjoy something for myself on the days that I have chemo

Thanks for the prayers.

p.s. how do you add a personal signature to your forum posts??

Hugs,

~Beth~

My personal favorite after chemo is a reses penutbutter icecream; now I have tootsie rolls to help out during Herceptin and Zometa!

When you update your profile there is a section/tab that you can do your signature. It took me awhile playing with it, but I figured it out.

I'm glad treatment is going well and you are in good hands! Just knowing your going through a major City hospital and Texas Oncology puts me at ease!

Hi Jessi

You like chocolate too huh My favorite has got to be Hershey's kisses & Reeses peanut butter cups but I'll eat godiva too

My second treatment yesterday went well also. I noticed that my back aches in the evening hours but not too badly so I haven't needed to take the big guns (Vicodin). I noticed the back pains go away the second day.

I enjoyed reading your post on the rules of the board.

You are a great moderator.

Hugs,

~Beth~
