I had a call back after my yearly mammo that I needed a spot compression after radiologist found more calcifications from last years mammo. At least that's what I think she said. The call back came the next day after my regular mammo. When the spot mammo was done I was told to wait to see if pictures came clear and then said I can get dressed that my doctor will call me. It's been two days and noone has called yet. If the radiologist still thought something was abnormal would I have been told right away that I needed further testing such as an ultrasound or even biopsy? Or does this mean that they will just send report to my doctor and since noone called spot mammo was okay? I'm so nervous about this. Does the imagining center usually tell you that a biopsy is needed or does your doctor get results and he calls to tell you that I need further testing. I hope I make sense please answer.

Every doctor office has a different policy. So if you haven't heard from doc 3-5 days after the scan call the office and ask if they've received. Some docs won't call if it's "good news", meanwhile you're sitting at home chewing your nails off. As far as them notifying you during the scan, it depends if the "technician only" reviewed it or if the radiologist (doctor) reviewed it. Again, they all have different policies; but if they saw something "glaringly obvious" they most likely would have told you right away.

Waiting is the hardest part, try to keep positive thoughts. Let us know what the reults are, we are praying for you!

Hugs

Jessi
