This subject came up in another thread so I wanted to have a discussion about the different treatments for BP and BPD. This can include meds, DBT therapy or any other kinds of therapy. Whatever it is we're doing to manage.

Me..right now I'm only on meds, effexor and lamictal. I can't afford therapy so I've been meaning to purchase a DBT workbook to try and figure out some of this stuff on my own.

HUGS

I'm in therapy every other week. This week I'm going to ask her about DBT. Other than that, I'm on Prozac (80 mg), Wellbutrin (150mg) and Seroquel(50 gm at night).

We only have one vehicle and husband has been working some very long hours. So, I don't really get out and that just makes me want to stay in even more.

Thanks Cherrie for mentioning this workbook. I have just purchased it online and I will let you know my thoughts about it.

What kind of exercises do you do in your therapy sunflower? Do you think it is helping you?

I take Geodon and it knocks me out as well. Anyone try Lamictal? I am going to ask about it next month.

I started on Lamictal last September. It took me till December to get up to the 200mg dosage im at now. He lowered my Effexor dosage from 325 to 150 bcuz apparently when on a mood stabilizer an additional antidepressant can throw you up into mania if ur not careful with the dosage.

I'm on Zoloft and Welbutrin. The Welbutrin helps with my anxiety, I'm not grinding my teeth as much. the Zoloft covers the rest.

I've been on my meds specifically to give me some elbow room to stay focused. That way I can work on congnitive therapy as well as Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). I'm doing a lot of reading, meditation, yoga, tai chi and (my favorite) kung fu.

Also, I'm starting to learn what behaviors I have that are BPD related, analyze, and try to work on those in correcting them. It's a long and annoying process but there are results.

I am on Geodon 120mg, Effexor 300mg, klonopin as needed and propranolol. I also see a therapist once a week. I have not had another bp episode and the last one I had combined bp with my bpd symptoms. I don't know if this combination is going to keep me stable or not. I have been on it for about 14 months. So far so good.
