Hello,

The book ''Understanding the Borderline Mother'' by Christine Lawson really helped me a lot to understand my childhood and why I became borderline. It took a lot of the guilt away and I felt a lot more normal after reading it.

Here's the Amazon link with readers' comments at the bottom:

I;m new to my diagnoses and my counselor recommended I read the Buddha and the Borderline by Kiera Van Gelder. It's a memoir of her personal experience with Borderline Personality Disorder and her recovery process. It's not a skills book by any means but I really related to her experiences and it was good insight into what DBT therapy might be like. There's also a 45 minute video called Back from the Edge that's available at Amazon, it's similar to the videos that the psych wards usually show for education purposes. I hope this might be helpful.
Current Meds: Wellbutrin 400mg, starting Lexapro in August 2011

Past and Failed Meds: Celexa 40mg, Zoloft 150mg, Abilify 10mg, Effexor 150mg

I am reading "Psychotherapy of the Borderline Adult" by James Masterson. It may be geared to professionals, but I find it SO much less judgmental than some of the newer stuff.

I am reading "Stop Walking on Eggshells" right now to learn more about the symptoms; it hit some on the head.

Next will be: The Angry Heart, Don't Sweat the Small Stuff in Love-Overcoming Borderline, The Emotional Abusive Relationship, Emotional Blackmail, and Toxic Parents. I am also reading "Regaining You Life Back" -from childhood abuse.

Borderline Personality Disorder Demystified by Robert O. Friedel is helping me get a grip.

Not judgmental at all. Published 2004.

Thanks for some other titles.
