I'm a self confessed nerd too...

Annabeth have you ever been to a LARP? I had never played RPGs but I took up LARPing a year ago and *love it*. It's like playing dress up when you were a kid only maybe even better!

I have the same problem with video games, I stopped playing once the controllers starting having too many buttons... i just cant seem to do it but sometimes I wish I could!

I'm also learning to knit Smile

"Inside the labyrinth walls
There lies a tiny child who sleeps alone
And as the daylight falls
The wind becomes so wild across the stone
For I have made her prison be
Her every step away from me
And this child I would destroy
If you tried to set her free..."

Knitting is fantastic for me, cuz it helps with my hands (I'm getting arthritis and I have a circulation disorder, plus I have trichotillomania, so I need to keep my hands busy), and it makes really good gifts. As for LARPs, no, I've never done it, but I'm interested. I assume it's kind of like Rennaisance re-enactments combined with D&D, which is just 10 different kinds of awesome in my book. The trouble is, I don't have a car or much money usually, and any LARPs in my area are a couple hours away.
It's that sinking feeling of being alone, and it's the way it makes you screech and pulls the skin off your bones, and I can't help but think, as I pick my mouth off the floor; Will you still know me in a year?

hehe it definitely would be 10 different kinds of awesome for you.

It is a problem that they're always in the middle of nowhere though. If you ever do find anyone with a car who wants to go most LARP's let you NPC for free or for about 10 bucks because they're always desperate for NPC's. I helped to start up a new LARP when I was living in America but its based in RI!

Yeah, the only ones I've heard of are down south, and I live in PA, so...
