Hello everyone I was just wondering how many of you have tried, or are currently using the DBT method of therapy? I am going to a DBT therapist right now and have a group starting in July that I am going to be going to and a million books on it that I need to read, but I wanted some real feedback before I dig in. What did you think of DBT? Thanks!

I have done DBT, but in a less traditional way. I didn't do group sessions, I have a therapist who specializes in BPD and we work on lessons in individual sessions as they pertain to what's going on in my life. I can honestly say it has completely changed my life for the better.

I'm not a doctor or a therapist, I'm just someone who is working on my issues just like everyone else. I can, however, offer support, understanding, and opinion from personal experience.

I'm in my last module of DBT. I began in a group, and then changed to one-on-one with my therapist when my work schedule changed. It has indeed helped. A lot of what is taught are things that I already knew, but had never put into practice. Go into it with an open mind and heart...you will benefit!

Thank you all so much. I just started DBT and I am really trying to get my head on straight so I really hope this helps. Thanks for the feedback.
