MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

If you are suicidal or having thoughts of hurting youself in any manner here are some phone numbers to call first. We here at MDJ are NOT professionals. We will be as supportive as we can but in a crisis situation a pro is your best bet.

If you have an emergency (Overdose, cut wrists, ect.) CALL 911!!!!!

There following numbers are used for situations that are good for de-escalation and helpful resources.

*National Suicide Prevention Hotline 1-800-273-TALK (8255), TTY line: 800-799-4889

*RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network)

1-800-656-HOPE (4673)

*Suicide Help Line 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433)

*Youth Crisis Line 1-800-448-4663

*National Domestic Violence Hotine 1-800-799-SAFE (7233)

*SAFE (Self-Abuse Finally Ends) 1-800-DONT-CUT 1-800-366-8288

*Gay-Lesbian National Hotline

Toll-free 1-888-THE-GLNH (1-888-843-4564)

HOURS:

Monday thru Friday from 1pm to 9pm, pacific time

(Monday thru Friday from 4pm to midnight, eastern time)

Saturday from 9am to 2pm, pacific time

(Saturday from noon to 5pm, eastern time)

*If you go to http://www.suicidehotlines.com/ they have hotlines for different states as well as toll free numbers

If you find other NATIONAL phone numbers that you think need to be added contact a group leader and let us know.
