I am wandering if anyone knows of medication or other things I can do to counteract the severe dry mouth my bipolar meds cause. I already have a humidifier in my room with a maintained humidity level of about 27-34%. I find I wake up just to drink water, then I have trouble going back to sleep. Like now it's almost 2 AM and I woke up when I found it to dry again, very uncomfortable feeling. Sad

You can buy gels and sprays to help with dry mouth, I have this problem but it's because I mouth breathe while sleeping. Hope you feel better.

Thank you, I mouth breathe to, so that may be it. Does it work well, does it last through the night?

Ugh! I hate the dry mouth. My p/doc said its just a side effect. I also get "metal mouth" which is like I'm chewing on aluminum. I've just been bearing with it. I like your ideas too Paraphan. Thanks.

I found another person at work tonight who is bipolar, so building some network locally Smile

She told me her PDOC put her on Evoxac. Apparently it is for the treatment of dry mouth, dry nose and dry eyes, which I all have. With my low vision, my eyes are constantly dry. I may ask my pdoc about it.

Heck, if helps with dry mouth, I'm in! I'll have to talk with my p/doc about this med. Thanks.

Well my pdoc wouldn't give it to me based on my medical History Sad . He says some side affects could be dangerous for me. Oh well I got the gel and some mouth wash made for dry mouth, it has no alcohol. Will try the gel tonight.
