my 1st husband divorced me because I'm bipolar but my 2nd husband is depressive so he understands and is so kind about everything.
I've been diagnosed with Bipolar 1 and have been dealing with Self Injury since age 12.

My hubby is understanding for the mostpart. He may not be as supportive in some situations but I know he tries. As far as the medication end of things he takes meds so I don't think he thinks much of my having to take meds for bipolar except that he wishes that I didn't have to take so much. Overall he wishes that I didn't have bipolar and thinks that I worry too much (which he is right). If only I could beat this anxiety...that would be great!

I'm an Advocate

I think my wife is getting tired of all the expenses related to my illness. Meds, t/doc, & p/doc is getting expensive, and I think I stresses her out. I have insurance, but have reached my deductible yet. I also think my wife is tired of the hospital stays and my behavior in general. I could be wrong though. She has been supportive, but I think wearing thin.
Sincerely,
Chris, 43

it is hard for another to cope with a bipolar mind, but some bp are good people and others not so good, people are people, i think it depends on the 2 people involved. i think bp makes life interesting.

I took my husband to a pdoc appointment with me. The pdoc explained what bipolar is and how it is treated. He let my husband ask all the questions he wanted to. You might want to take your partner to your pdoc or doctor and let them explain it. It really worked for me.
My opinions are just opinions, and should be taken as such. I am not an expert on medicines or BP disorder.

My husband struggles with it more than I do! He tries and he's learning patience with me. I found that learning communication helps to get the feelings across to each other.
Purely my personal opinion, I'm not any kind of physician.
