Hi everyone,

Just wanted to chuck out there... pdoc gave me some serepax for sleep. I hardly slept in two days so took some this evening just so i could doze off, just half a tablet (7.5mg).

Omg that stuff is amazing. in about 10min all my anxiety, agitation, and that - you, know, that sort of aching in your chest that comes with depression - was all calmed down. First relief (albeit temporary) I've had from all that sh*t in like months!!

I didn't fall asleep right away, but because I was calm I eventually did for a couple of hours.

Does anyone here use serepax for anxiety/agitation/depression?? How long does the effects of the dose last? Wondering if I could take the same rly low dose during the day to help with the sadness/anxiety, and hopefully still stay awake! Tongue

I know I need to ask pdoc first, but wondered if anyone else used it this way as a possibility for me. I can't believe a drug actually made me feel better. It was like a miracle!!

also, unfort I get this unpleasant tingling in my feet and legs as side effect. Is that common?

Thanks all Smile

I haven't heard of it before. I wish I could remember what I found about it when I googled it. Have you done your homework about it? I find it useful to look new meds up so I can learn more about them.

I am so glad that it is working for you. A good nights sleep is so important. Smile

Blessings, strength and courage to all.

Dont know if you got any further advice re Serepax, I only just saw your message from back in May. Yes you can take it during the day but it may make you a bit drowsy after couple of hours so make sure that you eat well. Still, being drowsy is better than being in a depressed, severely anxious state of mind. It enables you to think clearly and cope as the misery is sort of stifled for a while.

Im not bi-polar but know what extreme sadness and anxiety is!

Never used Serepax before. I'm on Restoril (Temazapam) for sleep, but it sounds like Serepax may work better. May have to ask p/doc about it.

Never heard of serepax before. Was thinking about asking my pdoc about it but don't think I could be on it since I already take a benzo as needed. It's amazing how many drugs there are out there. Glad it has been helpful for you!

Yeh I'm still taking it on occasion, for anxiety and/or sleep. I really like it! Its such a shame they are addictive, could totally do with it on a daily basis lol! But I guess CBT is something I need to get better at instead!

Yeh apparently serepax (oxazepam) is a bit stronger than temazepam, not as strong as valium.

hi i have used serapax for 2 years now and it does not work properly. i read for 1 hours and fall asleep then awake after few hours, read somemore then fall asleep till 4or 5 am . i have asked doc about this and they say give it time. well i have and am stopping now and last 4 days nothing has changed still waking same time. did some research on this and really not a sleeping tab. more depression anxiety. which i have none. so seeing how it goes for few weeks and then if my body does not go to sleep mode i will ask doc for abien as i see its very good for working in 2 stages. falling asleep and then kicking in after few hours again so you get a full night sleep. well hopefuly. have not had a full night sleep without breaks for years, so this will be a great test. i would rather not take anything but at 62 years old i need some sleep after the hours i work.like to at least have 7 hours sleep non stop. maybe it the age thing or i am to hyper active and need something to turn brain off when going to bed instead of thinking what i am doing tomorrow etc. hope this help someone

Yes I think Serepax is basically a milder form of Valium... I am extremely sensitive to sedating drugs, so Serepax does make me fall asleep but it takes about an hour to work. It's fantastic for anxiety as well.
