I have been on effexor xr for a little over a month and i don;t know if that is what it is but like the past week and a half i can't get enough to eat. it sucks because i spent the past 9 months losing 50 lbs. has anyone had the reaction with effexor? i have been pretty down too which doesn;t help. thanks

Hi cherilmt, I've never been on effexor, but I know depression can cause you to eat a lot. You might want to call your psychiatrist about the side effects of effexor. I'm sure others will be along to give you some pointers on it. I hope you get some answers soon.

I was on effexor for a short period of time, but I know that weight gain is a side effect of lots of psychiatric meds. If it's a concern, definitely call your pdoc and see what he/she recommends.

i gained weight on efexor too, but i was too depressed to care. its a fact that a lot of anti depressants cause weight gain (grrr)

i have put it in the 'too hard' basket for now, and when i am more stable (somewhere at the end of the rainbow....) then i will worry about itBlink

meanwhile, i love babydoll tops...Whistling
