can some one please explane as when i was diagnosed i was told i had manic deppresion no i find im a pb but could be bp1 or bp2 what is the diffarence ps im new to this

The major difference is that BPI has little depression, but full-on mania. BPII is more depression and a so-called milder form of mania called hypomania.

Manic depression is just the old name given to bipolar.

It can take your pdoc some time to determine which category you 'belong' to.

Current meds
1500 mg Lithium
75 mcg Thyroxine
400 mg Lamictal
Occasionally 10-20 mg Temazepam for sleep
Paracetamol + codeine for arthritis pain

Previous meds
2000 mg Epilim (sodium valproate)
50 mg Seroquel (to help sleep)
600 mg Tegretol

i have an appointment tommororow with jp i already have i diagnoses which i got 20 years ago then pb was called manic depresion i was given lithuim but stop taking them tablets around 10 years ago since then i have just coped without however thing laitley havent been right and i can feel myself getting worse

Once you get on the right medications you will be feeling great in no time. I am sure that your new pdoc will be able to help you. Welcome to the group. We are glad you are here!
Abilify 2 mg at bedtime
Klonopin 8 mg 2mg 4x daily
Cymbalta 60 mg 1 during the day
Lamictal 300 mg 2 during the day, one at bedtime
Luvox CR 100 mg in the morning.
Simvastatin - High Cholesterol bedtime
Metoprolol - High Blood Pressure 2 x during the day

i d i feel so hope as my highs are driving every one mad and i feel so frustraited all the time thanks for you sopport
