lol, love the darth vader reference, one of the ladies over in the apnea group had mentioned that earlier, sorry to hear that you are having such problems with it, like you I hope they advance more in this, would be nice not to have to sleep with the darn thing on.. don't forget to give the wife a hug and tell her thank you for putting up with you, my hubby has had it easy, I was on meds for depression before we met, and they worked for a while..

Just to let you know...I dont want to scare you...I developed suicidal thoughts from Depakote. I was on Depakote (500mg a day) for about three weeks when I started having morbid thoughts which is a side effect of Depakote. I got off the Depakote and my suicidal thoughts stayed with me for a week after that. It was so difficult. Im okay today but will never go back on Depakote.

I really hope it works out for you, with no bad side effects. Let me know! Ill keep you in my thoughts.

Cj, thanks for the heads up. I'll watch for that. Medication for this does indeed resemble a guessing game. Hopefully this will work for me.

Carmen, I'll give my wife a hug and thank her again. I should def do that more often.

talk soon,

It seems to me that everyone has a different response to each medication they are tried on. No one drug works for everyone, our brains are very complicated.

CJ223 - I'm waiting for the beast of my brain to get beautiful real quickly so I can conquer it! )

santos63,

You're right about how people react to meds. It's why it's no more than an educated guessing game for the pdocs.

cj227. Depakote was a disaster for me. Can't even remember what was tried between then and now. Oh Lithium (kidney function problem). But now it's Abilify. He is into the second line drugs for BP Type II at this point. Mixed results thus far. At this point I do not believe there is a viable med for me. I'll prob have to wait until the next greatest thing comes along.

After my success with Lamictal (except the rash) everything else has been a complete and utter failure.

The good news is I feel pretty good when I'm riding my motorcycle. Maybe there is something to the MC commercial that states you never see a MC parked in front of a pdocs office... well except mine... for the time being!

thx,

bdr
