Hi all,

Just wanted to let you guys in on my process. I finally have health insurance and I'm seeing a therapist regularly and just met with the pdoc at the clinic.

I was really hoping to give Lamictal another try. While titrating too quickly the last time I tried it made my manic and anxious eventually the drug did work for me I believe. My last pdoc added Zyprexa and it was the quietest my mind has ever been.

Someone along the way gave me a Lamictal sample pack which I brought to my appointment last Friday. He favored 5 mg of Zyprexa however saying that some people do get high off Lamictal.

I've started the Zyprexa and I'm a little worried and skeptical about it as a long-term med. The tardive dyskethsia or whatever it's called scared the shit out of me.

I'm meeting with him in 2 1/2 weeks so I guess I'll give it a shot and see what he says then.

I'm very sensitive to suggestion so I'm trying to not go online and look up all the horror stories about Zyprexa. I know some people have weight gain with it and all kinds of stuff but the last time I took it I actually lost weight because I was able to focus enough to go to the gymp without being anxious! My pdoc thought that was pretty funny.

Hi there,

I'm a big fan of Zyprexa. It gives me beautiful sleep, is calming, and has given me the chance to relax and have a 'normal' life without worrying every two seconds if I'm going up or down. Yes - I did gain a lot of weight but I am now losing weight easily and effortlessly (well apart from the hour of exercise I do each day). I would certainly recommend it. I was told the risk of Tardive Dyskinesia was very low, and for the sake of good health now in my thirties I'm prepared to take the risk. It sure beats being unwell all the time. Good luck with your trial.

NZCharlie.

Seriously depressed tonight. Just tired all the time and really feeling lonely but also don't want to be with people. Not sure if it's the Zyprexa or just my life that sucks so hard. Do I give it another week? I dunno why I even ended up on this med because depression has been my problem most of all. I was hoping for Lamictal again but I dunno. I just feel slow and tired and bored.
