The biggest issues I've heard with my patients with Topamax (when I was practicing as a RN), was it made them dopey, ie, that is how the nickname for topamax is dopamax, the other bad effect, I worked with another RN who took topamax for migraines, and she head a major loss of hair. I take topamax occasionally when really unable to cope, but am afraid of the side effects to take it very often. Maybe I should give it a chance, I could stand to lose 30 pounds, (that I gained from taking psych meds)! I hate carrying extra weight, it is all in my belly. I look pregnant. Live in Perfect Love!
