Hi,

I've recently been diagnosed bipolar II after a nearly constant string of hypomanias and depression over the past six months. It nearly cost me my marrage as well as my career. I was always angry and screaming or crying... and it's hard to admit, I contemplated suicide and cut myself because I wanted to feel something other than the pain in my head. I've been medicated for a week and a half now and I seem to be responding well to it. I'm trying to find everything I can on this so that I can avoid having a prolonged episode like that again and hopefully have a normal life. Thank you all for your support and help in advance. This seems like a great community.

-Kat

Welcome Kat! I'm glad you are starting to feel better. I think you will find this group very supportive. I am sorry you have struggled with suicidal thoughts. I have too and unfortunately acted on them. Again welcome to the group! Beth

Hi Kat.

Your road to recovery has started. Smile you might still have to try lotsa diff meds and still have ups n downs. Just keep on swimming! Look for the triggers and work on ways to handle them.

Hello and welcome to the site. I was diagnosed a year ago next week and am still trying to come to terms with it. This is a fantastic group and I find it comforting to know there are others like me. They're all very supportive.

Please don't take my advice as a medical opinion. I'm just someone trying to live and learn with the same disorder you are :)

Some people are like slinkies - absolutely useless and you can't help but smile when you push them down the stairs

I also suffer from CDO - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder but it's in alphabetical order the way it should be

I'm in my own little world. That's okay, though, they know me here

Hi, Kat,

Welcome. Tongue I was diagnose 2 years ago and I'm still having trouble accepting and adapting. Especially now that I'm in a depression cycle. If you've never heard of rapid cycling, it's when your mood changes quickly on a day by day, hour by hour, or even minute by minute.

It drives my wife crazy when it's happening. She doesn't quite understand yet how I feel during them. I pray that your spouse will begin to understand what you're going through and support you the best he can. Let him talk to some of us.

Bobby
