I am new here, been diagnosed for a little over a year now. I struggle daily with my emotions, go through depression, extreme mania, and hear crude voices. I take Respidol, Zoloft. My question is, does anybody know if there is a certain length of time that it takes to actually get better?????

Hi, Kirbdog, welcome to the group, how long have you been on your meds? the time that it takes to get better? there is really no set time, for me when I started the med I am on, Lamictal, it was at about a month that I started feeling the med was working.

hey Dawn, it's going to take a little time to know for sure your meds are going to work for you, just keep track of how you are feeling and discuss this with your doctor

hey kirbdog, in addition to what the others said, your progress i going to be mainly up to you. if you fight it and dont take your meds like you should and dont go to therapy and read your literature then it will take longer for you. you have to teach yourself coping mechanisms to deal with anxiety, and learn how to recognize your triggers and how to cope with them. Hey, do your crude voices repeat the same things over and over again? like a question?
