Hi, I haven't been able to find any local support groups that fit my schedule. I had the day off and have been feeling kind of low, so I started searching around the Internet for info to cope with Type II BP. MDJunction sounded familiar, so I decided to take a look around. I'm looking forward to finding and giving support (if I can).

I was diagnosed late summer 2005. I was misdiagnosed with depression for 13 years. Bummer. What's done is done.

I joined today because I can't bear to share some thoughts and feelings with my friend who’s aware of my diagnosis, the other 2 friends who think I have severe depression and the 1 friend who is in denial about any sad thoughts I might have.

I see a pdoc and a tdoc. As I mentioned I've been feeling kind of low, so I'll explore with them during appointments next week. In the meantime, I'm going to post about hypomania on another part of this forum.

When I'm feeling low, I'm notoriously bad about checking my electronic accounts [sort of like staying in bed all day]. Don't take it personally if I don't respond right away.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the group mmm3Smile As for finding support groups, I recommend that you check out DBSA (Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance). Here's their web address: www.dbsalliance.org/

and Nami.org.

A third option is looking in the paper. Newspapers may have support groups listed that you can check out

And remember, you're not alone.

Hello and welcome. I was so thankful and relieved to find MD Junction. It help a lot to meet others going through the same thing you are. I hope you feel comfortable here and know you won't be judged. We look forward to getting to know you better.

Please don't take my advice as a medical opinion. I'm just someone trying to live and learn with the same disorder you are :)

Some people are like slinkies - absolutely useless and you can't help but smile when you push them down the stairs

I also suffer from CDO - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder but it's in alphabetical order the way it should be

I'm in my own little world. That's okay, though, they know me here

I'm an Advocate

This is the best site to have found. I was on a few before I found MDJ and they never responded to me, Being insecure in things already that was not a good feeling. When you open up whole heartedly you dont want to be ignored. You will def not get that here!!! Smile
I suffer from Rapid Progressive MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy, Migraines, Neuropathy, IBS, Narcolepsy, Arrythmia, Arthritis and too much more complete list on profile.

"Just because we have the right to disagree with a person, does NOT give us the right to disrespect that person."

I'm not currently active due to many personal and medical issues. I will not be participating in MDJ for awhile, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone. I hope everyone is well and I appreciate all of the thoughts, kind words and messages. I have tried to respond as much as possible and apologize if I have not gotten back to everyone. Love & Hugs, Stacey
