Hi,

This is my first time in a support group. Yesterday was really bad. I never know if when I'm happy it's only because I'm manic, and if I'm depressed it's only that part of the cycle. I don't know who I am, and I don't want to make people hate me anymore. I have no idea what to do now. I guess I'm just beaten down lately. Thank you and I'm sorry.

Don't be sorry and welcome to MDJ. Are you seeing a therapist or psychiatrist. Are you on any meds. Have you been diagnosed?
You are not drunk unless you have to hang on while lying on the floor.

Welcome to the group. I think BangBang has the same questions as I do. BP is such a frustrating disorder and it is hard to know whether what we feel is a cycle or not. Keep posting so we can support you!

Hugs!

Thank you both so much! I always feel like I'm bothering everyone. I haven't had much luck with the behavior specialists or psycho guys. They dope me up and make me someone else. My doctor keeps a close eye on me, and I am taking some meds: lamictal, trazadone, ambien, and zoloft. She thinks I'm bipolar 2, and I've researched so it seems like I am. But it could be a personality disorder too. My family is wonderful, but it's so hard on them. I try to work it out on my own.

I used to think mine was a personality disorder but it sure wasn't. It is easy to think that when we have been unstable for so long. I always thought I was just a pessimist with no will to appreciate living.

It doesn't appear you're on an antipsychotic. That really helped me regarding my mania. Mania can be irritable and snappy, too. It leveled me out. Just a thought.

Before I was ever diagnosed with BPII, I was on mood stabilizers & antipsychotics because of my behavior from BPD. The symptoms of a personality disorder can overlap with something like BP, so I think meds are still helpful for stabilization.

I'm not sure if my post made any sense or not, lol...I guess taking the meds helped me before being diagnosed with bp2 because I actually WAS bp.
