Hi One and All,

I was recently diagnosed as Bipolar II, previously was diagnosed with Major Depression r/t PSTD... I am having a tough time with the diagnosis.. and the medications... put on Lamictal as well as Wellbutrin... still increasing the dose of Lamictal.

Just did not know where to turn... I am unable to share with friends at this point. Thanks for having this forum.

Hi,

I am on the same meds, they are working great for me! This is a great group and we are going to be starting a special section for positive only talk (probably next week). You will be able to find, discuss, and suggest old and new ways to work with (and around, sometimes) our issues. There is much hope and that's what we want to share.

Welcome!

Hi, Confused, we are glad to have you here, I know that this illness can be confusing, I am newly diagnosed too, just since August, I am on the Lamictal as well, currently taking 400mg.

As Clover said we will be starting the new section probably next week, you are invited to participate in all sections, we have many forums here on this site.

What dosage does your Doctor currently have you on?

Carmen

sounds like you are still in the early stages of taking the medication, everyone starts at a different stage, I started at 25mg per day for like 2 weeks, then 50, then 100, then 200, up to 300 where I stayed for about a month till I started having mixed episodes, those were tough to tell what was going on, as I explained to my Doctor, I didn't know if it was a part of my illness or just the simple fact that my husband is a idiot and I am frustrated with him, I had started off in the morning in a good mood, then he tried putting off doing some paperwork for a job that he was trying to get, mind you he had already done this once and got knocked out of a weeks work, told him absolutely no, he would get it to the guy the next day, well he went from trying to put it off to trying to rush me into leaving when I was talking to my baby brother.. I wasn't polite when I told him what he could do with that idea..rofl..

By the time we got home I was crying uncontrollably..and I had to take a time out (peace time as I call it) till I could get myself under better control.. luckily I saw my doctor a few days later..

I hope that the Lamictal does for you what it has done for me, it has finally drug me out of the black hole of depression that I have lived in most of my life..

Carmen
