Out of work for 4mos. before i found out it was bipolar disorder manifesting as fibromyalgia. Honestly, I've never dealt with SSDI or even known anyone who has. But I hope that maybe someone will have an answer for you.

I'm new also. Welcome to the group.

Hi Hppy, welcome to the group, we are glad to have you here, the struggle for getting the SDI is a long and hard one, best thing that you can do is keep a journal of all your doctors, doctor appointments, medications that you are having to take, keep a log of how you are doing each day, and stay on top of their paperwork, trust me they will bury you in it, but it has to be responded to on time..within their time limits, we are fighting for my husbands, most folks after they have been denied for the first time give up, don't do that, file the appeal, if they do it again, which they probably will, you can get a lawyer for it, you might even be able too after the first time, lawyers vary on that...they can only take about a quarter of what your back pay is, and don't need anything up front, basically if they don't win your case, they don't get paid, so it is in their best interest to get you a win and get it fast...

I hate to say but the average wait time is about 4 years, my husband is 59, with degenerative back disease, one knee replaced and the other needing it, has arthiris..and these fools think he is going to get better in a year...lol..we have been fighting now for 2 years. My brother who has MS and epilipsey fought for 4 years to get his.

Again, welcome

Carmen

Hello Hppy 123 and welcome to the group. My husband is bi-polar/alcohol dual diagnosis and a few weeks ago I joined this site because he was in a major depressive phase. He is now out of it back on his Lithium and our life is again a wonderful place and although I know there will be together episodes our ability to support each other and talk in the good times will I know see us though it.

I expect you too will have good days and not so good days. In the good days relish and enjoy and build loving relationships to help you through the darker days.

There will be good days and live and enjoy them>

Good luck

Tata
