As most of you guys who have been reading my posts know I've been "manic" and "up" for the past week or so which has actually been wonderful, but now I am crashing into a depression so fast and it's very difficult... I'm not sure what to do... I just want to curl up in a ball...

Yes, hugs are good. Also, being around people. Try to be around others as much as possible. When that doesn't work, I always put on my favorite TV program, movie, book on tape or podcast. Hearing people talking gives me comfort and keeps me afloat when I crash. Silene is the worst and music makes me cry in those moods.

I hope that helps and I hope that you fell better really soon.

Cinemacraze: If you haven't already I would contact your Psychiatrist. I remember you saying that he was going to slowly increase your Lithium and this may be why the moods are still going so high and now low. Perhaps he would want to try a different treatment plan? Take care of yourself. Beth

I'm an Advocate

They usually dont raise Lithium that fast. They will probably do it after she has her levels checked. If you feel that bad you should definately contact your pdoc and ask if you can go in for a sooner appt than the one you originally have scheduled. Meds take time to adjust in your system. Lithium is usually a little quicker than most but it may still take some time, you only started treatment last week right? Dont give up hope yet.

Cinemacraze... those crashes can be hard, but I agree with the others please reach out to those closest to you and keep them close to help you through this descent out of your mania. I also agree with Stacey in that you should contact your pdoc to see if you can push your appointment up.

Lots of hugs and support!

I had no one close to me to reach out to yesterday... I had no close friends to relay around me... or even one... then i had upsetting news with my family.... and I confused to my ex boyfriend who i am still madly in love with that i had slept with other people.... Very bad choice when I know I'm crashing. I ended becoming suicidal and took 3 trazadone, 4 clonezapam and 10 Lithium and I ended up in the hospital which is where I am now. My Lithium level got above 3 and then they had to flush my system and now I'm stable back at 1.2 and still trying to bring me down a little. Once they are confident I'm ok medically they are transferring me down to the psyche ward.... my first ever hospital stay....

My room is stifling, they can't turn the heat down... I have wires going everywhere. It's truly uncomfortable.

cinemacraze: You are in a safe place and what I appreciated with being in the hospital is I had around the clock care. I think it's important for you to get stable and I would suggest if you feel comfortable to show your attending psychiatrist your online journal.

I know it's scary.....I felt the same way, but it was the best thing that happened to me for my mental well being. Big Hugs. Beth
