Hi everyone. New to the site and new to chat rooms. my BP2 is usually in check but I continually struggle with low energy and wanting to be alone. I have recently have had suicidal thoughts. I know I could never follow through on an attempt but the prospect is appealing. Do you ever get tired of fighting? Sad
Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
The leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Yes I get tired. Do you have any extra medication you can increase for these times when you're feeling a bit unsafe? Great to see you here.

I relate to the low energy (for me it's loss of interest) and desire to be alone and I've done the suicide struggle and that was because I was on the wrong med for BP. If the suicide thots are a recent thing and increasing then you really need to make sure your psychiatrist knows it is on the increase because you don't want it to get out of hand. If not kept in check it can get dangerous so please don't wait until they take on a life of their own.

Hey goferal, i think that becasue our depression is soooooooo much worse than regular depression, our suicical thoughts are more prevalent. i dont think they ever go away, but like you said, there comes a point where you pretty much know you're not going to act on them but you still have them anyways. i once told my therapis that i was not suicidal but if i found out today that i was going to die tomorrow from some horrible disease, it wouldnt bother me. now that i'm wathcing my dad die from cancer, i take that back, but i have no fear of death. For me mostly when i'm feeling sorry for myself or am in one of my "why me" stages i normally am able to just push them away. i do alot of talking to myeslf (am i the only one?). i tell the suicidal thoughts to go away, cuz they're not gonna get me lalalalala. Of course i get tired of fighting, especially when it doesnt seem like there's anything worth fighting for, but then i tell my self (that's the devil talking). when you feel completely wiped out adn just feel like you cant bear the weight anymore. Find someone you know who loves you (usually mom and dad) adn go over there and just ask them to hold you and tell you that they love you. they are the ones we hurt the most if we give up. try to always keep that in your thoughts.
