MDJunction to me

carmen33"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

Hey everyone,

I have been on 200mg of Lamictal for about 10 months now. It has decreased my mood swings, but my depression and anxiety levels are still pretty high. I have taken Zoloft before and it made me suicidal...I have taken Celexa and it made me have intense crying spells...and now my pdoc is prescribing me Lexapro. How have your experiences been with Lexapro? Any significant weight gain or loss in sex drive? Is it better to take it morning or night?

I am taking it for the first time tomorrow and I am FREAKING OUT!!

Thanks in advance for the feedback Smile

I am in a similar spot as you. I take Lamictal 200mg and Bupropion 150mg and am mildly depressed daily and have high irritability and anxiety, so my pdoc wanted to start me on Effexor. I didn't even go pick it up because i am feeling almost resistant towards getting on any AD because of the side effects and we have already tried so many. I keep thinking I will just remain on Lamictal and not make any med changes, but then every day I realize that I have once again put strain on my marriage and been not how i want to be with my kids. I am tired of different meds and changes and all the other stuff it brings. Rock and a hard place. I understand why you are freaking out too. It is good that you are asking and i hope you get some advice or personal experience stories, but it is so weird how so many people have such different experiences so you never really know until you try it yourself. Oh the med changes, the mood changes, the body changes, the side effects. I can't take this one, I can't take that one etc. I suppose we should be commended for at least trying but, I too know the strain it has put on my marriage. I too am on bupropion and lamictal and also Prozac and clonezapam. I used to have HOPE when starting a new med, not anymore, it has changed to anxiety and waiting and wondering how quickly the other shoe will drop. Thank you for listening.
Lamictal 200 mgs
Clonazepam 4 mgs
Lorazepam 1 mg prn

I am on Lamictal and Klonopin and Chloropromize which help with the anxiety. I am more depressed and not sure what pdoc will do. I don't like the antidepressants because they can really take me too low. Since I haven't found the right one, the depression is there but I don't have the rapid cycling...can't win..seems to always be a balance...hard to find. Good luck.. I think everyone is different but I hope you find the right combination for you

I take Celexa and tried Lexapro, but couldn't sleep while taking it. I also take Abilify and Trileptal. I'm trying different things for the restlessness that Abilify causes. It is a constant juggling act to find the right "cocktail".

Abilify 2mg
Trileptal 150mg
Celexa 20mg
Trazadone 50mg
