Ahhh I see. You are really stuck, huh? If only there were an easy answer. Art used to be one of my favorite things that would consume me for long long periods. I could sit for hours drawing. Now, I pick up the pad and pencil, and cannot even get a single mark on the paper. It is like that whole portion of my cognition responsible for initiating creativity has been erased completely. Even when I feel really good, I cannot doodle a stick figure to save my life. Used to go to the gym too, but when I realized how fat I was getting despite my workouts, I got completely discouraged and have not been there in months. Kinda the opposite approach I should be having....

Do you have any pets? Since adopting my cat last August, my depressive episodes have been a lot shorter. He distracts me so easily, and even if I do feel suicidal, he demands my attention and I remember that I need to stick around for him at least. Dogs are great for depression because you HAVE to take them out for the bathroom and walks. Well, if you can't have a pet or don't like animals, I am kind of not sure where I would go next. My whole world is animals. (I am a veterinary technician)

If this constant crying and depression continues any longer, for more than another day or two, if it were me i would bring myself to the ER to at least be evaluated. I don't know how you feel about the chance of them holding you and putting you inpatient, but maybe that is what you need for a few days? If not, they should be able to help give you some kind of short term relief with benzos or something until you can work out medication things with your pdoc.

You don't have to feel this badly, and you shouldn't. If the trileptal is the cause, you need to try something different. Now go do something comforting for yourself, like a hot shower, watch an old favorite movie, eat your best/worst junky comfort food....

I also am taking omega 3 fatty acids and Magnesium taurate as supplements.

I am a recovering alcoholic. I used to do ceramics and make jewelery.

Now I just sit around watching movies.
