MDJunction to me

tomboykimi"What MD Junction means to me is a place where i can feel like im not alone. As someone with something as rare as hydrocephalus, it feels like im the only one in the world with it. When i came to MD, its like everyone has it. It doesnt feel like im alone. And that people need to hold up a sign to say what i have, because people know. And they understand. I can get questions answered from people who have been through it rather than from doctors or people who only can tell you from a physical standpoint. THat is what MD junction means to me." Things I need to remember when I'm hypomanic:

I do not think as clearly as I think I do... Taking my ritalin was not a wise choice today and I didn't consider that until after I took it.

Sleep is not for the weak. Sleep is very good for me and I did try to sleep, but even then I only managed 3-4 hours.

Food is good, eating it is better.

I am not invincible. Boris said that and look what happened to him in James Bond.

I still have to go to class despite how much I want to stay home and let everything take over.

It's only 8:30 so I'm sure I'll be adding things throughout the day, I have a feeling this is going to be an interesting day.

Medications:
Currently on:
50mg lamictal
0.25mg respirol (cut in half at night for sleep)
0.5mg clonazepam as needed for panic attacks

Those are good things to remember. I definitely don't think clearly when I'm hypomanic. I hope you make it through the day unscathed!

Those help me a lot and I need to make some of my own statements too as i have been fighting hypomania lately with some destructive impulsive, compulsive shopping.

yes, if i can only remember to remind myself to write them down so that i can have them if i remember to use it Wink no really, it's a great idea! the ideas for an app are brewing... i'd be curious though, to see everyone's list...maybe it could be a social app..hmmm

note to self: the first thing on my hypomanic list is to avoid starting new projects for the multitudes of ideas that fly in

I'm an Advocate

My addition

I don't have an endless line of credit or supply of money.

Caffeine doesn't effect me is a lie I tell to myself to justify the amount I drinking.

I'm 48 not 18....

just because I feel good doesn't mean I am cured and go off my meds.

peace & hugs

And for me--ditto on the line of credit...big time.

And when I am hypo I should avoid emailing anyone who upsets me

And I should avoid emailing the entire world that I am cured

When I am agitated & angry...my words DO hurt other people. They are not made of rubber where things just bounce off.

My perception may very well be off, and sugar is not a friend of mine.

More additions:

People have limits and my teasing often upsets them.

Caffeine on top of sleep deprivation is not good.

During a hypomanic state may not be the best time to evaluate my life decisions and where I'm going.

People do not want to listen to you babble simply because you want to hear your voice or you feel compelled to speak.

I am not the best at what I do at work.

I will not ignore that I'm hungry.

I will not ignore my family.

I will take care of myself.
