MDJunction to me

neshama48"Having Crohn's Disease for over 26 years, in the first few years, it lonely and isolating.
Though now my disease is in a near perfect remission, my friends and family are sympathetic to me, but I can not talk to them about this disease. When I stumbled across MD Junction, and met others who had the same disease I was not alone in battling the disease. MD Junction is like a second family, without the judgement or guilt of having Crohn's Disease, but they do give you love and support.

Hey everybody got a question and not sure if anybody could help me. I take topomax as a mood stabalizer along with Klonopin for anxiety, which I don't plan on being on the klonopin for the long haul. Does anybody know of any great mood stabalizer wich have great Anti-anxiety properties in it since my Bp II comes with acute Anxiety. The topomax doesn't seem to be doing the trick. I am taking effexor xr and that seems to help my depression and some anxiety but I need more of a kick.

I read about Depakote and Gabapentin. Not sure if those are good or what else there might be?

Thank you

Greg

I'm really sorry, I am not sure of mood stabilizers that help with anxiety. I think Prozac and Zoloft help, but I'm not a doctor. Those are antidepressants though. Topamax was not good for me. The nickname is Dopamax. I felt dumb and made a lot of mistakes. I take Lamictal, but I don't have much anxiety and never really have. I would ask your psychiatrist about the medication options you have. I hope that you can get the right medication for you. Let us know how it goes. We are here for you.

I take Lamictal as well as Risperdal. The risperdal has helped with my anxiety so much that I am now able to control it without meds. But everyone is unique, and different things work for different people. Joy is right, you should talk to your Dr about your options Smile Good Luck!

I also suffer from anxiety and have bipolar 2. I was recently diagnosed and prescribed Depakote ER about 2 months ago. It took a little time but it has really helped with my anxiety and to give me an over all calm feeling.
