I tried to increase my Lamictal by 0.25mg in the morning then - in the afternoon, I was sooo sleepy, i crashed and slept for 2hrs.

It doesnt make logical sense to me that i would have a problem that quickly AND for such a small increase, but it was so coincidental that it got me wondering -

if anyone knows for sure ...

I have read but dont remember all the drug info - i will go search again, but figured it was a "just happens to me" thing -

I still want to try an increase but am a bit scared until i have a long time to adjust and not have to go to work

thanks in advance

Maybe you just had a bad night before?or maybe emotionally, that also makes me want to sleep. NOt sure about your question tho, am also on lamictal but because i was under strict supervision at a psych hosp for three months the effects was less, i think. lamictal did the exact opposite to me, it keeps me awake cant even sleep in the afternoons anymore like i use to.. and I love sleeping!! but yes in those three months when they changed my meds i just wanted to sleep and sleep as my body got use to the meds the effect went away, and know im ok. Your on a much higher dose than me so i dont know. Have you discussed this with your doctor? Good luck keep being positive, although i know its hard, just trySmile

I've never heard of it putting you to sleep. Could you have just been really tired? Just to be sure, maybe call your psychiatrist and ask him about this. Lamictal is a great medication. It really helps with my depression and stabilizing my moods. I hope this was just a one time thing that you were just tired. Let us know how you are doing.

I take 100 in the morning and 200 at night because of the effect it has on my sleep/wake cycle.

How on earth did you increase by 0.25 mg? Surely you mean 25 mg? I can't imagine a pill cutter being able to shave off 0.25 mg of the pill :-P
Seroquel - 300 mg
Lamictal - 150 mg
Adderall - 20 mg (as needed, hardly ever use it)

Hmmm - uhmmmm - yea - your right - duh - but if it sounds like i take less then it is just so right? - haha haha

But i am still not sure if the reaction was from the 25mg- i take the other 200 in 2 doses - one in the mornin and one at night - i had taken the increase in the morning - maybe i will try it at night

thanks everyone

I don't think that 25mg was a significant increase from your normal dose. I have to think your sleeping was due to something else.

I take it in the morning because in the beginning I had a little bit of insomnia because of that. I just stuck to the morning and have not had any problems with it. It affects people differently.

hmmmm - i guess its going to be trial and error - with only a change of 25mg - i wont worry - but i sure want something to change - i have not been feeling well - my depression is high and i want my hypo back - i just dont want this up/down ad nauseum - i have also lost a lot of creativity since the last increase of lamictal

I just dont know what to do and that is the scary part - and - noone can help really, its all in my brain -

thank you so much for listening and support - i rely on MDJ BPII a lot for my support

I actually started thinking about stopping my Lamictal becuae I have lost all motivation and creativity. I think it is the lamictal but not sure. I am going to talk to my Pdoc about it this next week.
