Go see your doc. The same thing happened to me and it was really bad Once, I could not find my car in a parking lot and was so close to reporting it stolen, I couldn't remmeber my phone number or address (just the number part), I spaced out driving (how serious is that?!) and even sidewiped a column in my office parking garage because even tho I thought I was paying attention, I wasn't. My focus, memory and attention span were in the toilet. My doc. put me on Strattera and it has made a huge difference.

That happens to me alot these days just because my life has gotten so crazy. I never used to have to write things down but now I do.

Thank u lotus,i will ask about that med.I feel stupid when people say,"you allready told me that".I sit here and rack my brain to try and remember but i can't.It is kind of scary.I really can't learn anything new because i can't retain information. It seems to effect my short term memory the most.

I'm on Lamictal as well as a number of other meds and have this problem I just chalked it up to the combination of meds and the depression. I have forgotten what I did over a weekend and generally a day or so ago. There are times when I know I know something and try to retrieve it from my brain and feel like I can't get to it somehow. It can really be frustrating and scary at the same time. Checking with your doc is probably a good idea though. It also helps me to make lists so I don't feel as scatter brained then.

I hope you get some relief from this someway.

Lamictal 500 mg
Effexor XR 150 mg
Ativan 40 mg
Risperdal .5 mg
Ritalin 40 mg

Maybe your regular doctor can help with this (in terms of getting an Rx)?

I feel you. It is frustrating and depressing in it's own way. I find that being OCD and making routines really help me. I'm OCD in that I keep everthing I use in the same place everyday. If not, I lose them. My keys, wallet, work badge, are by the front door in the same place. I don't put them on until I leave and I have to do it all at once or I'll forget something. My lunch and coffee are made at the same time and I place them in front of the front door or I'll forget them. I take the same route to work and have a routine when I get to work to get started before chaos begins (I work in operations on a military base and things get hectic). I also keep a note pad I call my memory book and right things down. If I do a honey to do list on the weekend, I have to right it down and put the order of places I need to go (like wal-mart, lowes, etc.) in order so I don't forget. If I don't I won't remember why I left the house once on the road. It is something I've learned to live with. So days are better than others, but I seem to function ok (in my little mind at least)
