this is my story of how I was diagnosed and just looking to hear other peoples story;s I keep hearing about pdoc, tdoc and stuff and for me i dont see a phsychiatrist, just my nurse practitioner, family doctor and counselor. so just looking to see what everyone els's experiences have been.

I was diagnosed a few months ago, still trying to come to terms with the diagnosis. i went through so much over the years trying to get a dr to listen to me and my concerns i hated it. as a child drs and teachers said i had ADHD but my parents wouldnt hear anyhthing about that how embarassing right? ive gone through many drs over the years one retired, then got another she left then was left without a dr for many years until i got in with the nurse practitioners office, my regular nurse prac left lol then got the one i have now and she is excellent, there is a full time dr at the office who i see most of the time now and she is just fantastic. she actually listened to what III had to say and how II was feeling not what she tought i should feel. she was convinced this is what i had i wouldnt hear it so she offered me a second opinion from a psychiatrist and he had no doubt in his mind that this was it. so i listened. i am happy with it now cuz when you think about it i kept getting different diagnoses( depression, ADHD, Anxiety disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder) and different meds all the time. so now we focuse on one thing only and shes been amazing through it,even on my worst days when im mad at the world. im so glad i finaly found the right dr for me. i do not deal with a psychiatrist i deal with my dr which i have not heard anyone say yet. but shes great and shes all for helping me get better and thats aweome to hear. still going through changes and side effects from meds but hopefully it will get better with time.
