Hi, everyone!

I started taking Geodon, after four years with seroquel,

because got tired of the lack of energy/weight gain/lack of enthusiasm. I am in my second week. On one side i love it. The good side I am very active as a used to be but I am getting too restless and need little sleep and I am losing weight. Now,I have been soo anxious to the point of having four hallucinations/panic attack.I had been drinking alcohol those four days but today I am still feeling bad. I have been up since 1:30 a.m.today.

I am pretty manic(positive manic) all the time. I am not irritable and i am not depressed. Just scared! I have an appointment with my pdoc on Tuesday. But for now don't know if this will go away or what. The prescription booklet says to call the doctor immediately. But as the days pass i am praying that the bad goes away and the good definately stays!! Please helpErmm Wassat Dizzy Silly

The thing is I am want to get back to work and with seroquel, Forget it! oh I am also on hormones for my irregular bad periods.

I know I was a naughty girl with the wineBlush

I do know that you can not drink with Geodon. It can cause a bad reaction. I have avoided alchohol all together in fear of this.

I do not understand the anxiety though I know it can cause it some people. I do not experience this though. I hope this helps.

I get anxiety from Geodon but on a higher dose it completely takes care of my hypomania. It also caused some loss in appetite so I lost some weight on it as well. Mixing alcohol is never good though.

Mixing alcohol is never good and it lessens the affect of the medication. When I was on it, it totally killed my hypo-mania. Maybe you need a higher dose. You could also be having withdrawals from the Seroquel too. It is good that you have a psychiatrist appointment so you can address this issue. Geodon is a great drug. The only reason I got off it was because the tiredness never went away for me. Most people it does with time. I hope you get some answers and it works out for you since it is such a great drug. Good luck and keep us updated.

You need to report the hallucinations, etc immediately to your pdoc as these are signs of a psychotic break - BAD news!!! I would bet you will need a med change. I am going through the same thing right now. I didn't get to bed until after 0700 this am. Got up a few hours later. MY pdoc is very concerned. I have psychotic breaks a little too often and he is concerned that I may not return from a p. break and just decide to live in my own little world oblivious of others. SCARY!! Don't mess with caffeine, steroids, or liquor, it will mess you up even worse!
