MDJunction to me

mabri"When I was diagnosed about 18 months ago with fibromyalgia, I didn't know where to turn. I got on my computer and looked for a support group where I could talk to other people with the same disease and get some help...Information, suggestions, mostly just what I can do now that I have this.....disorder/disease/syndrome...I didn't even know what to call it. I found MDJ, and yes, there was a support group for fibro. I started a post, and figured I would never get an answer. However, very quickly I was welcomed in, and became really involved in the group. I received help, support, friendship and the feeling of being truly cared about by these strangers who had become like family to me. Now, I have been here for about a year and a half...I have become a group leader, and love every minute of it. It is so wonderful to be able to help others. I still receive help and answers from the members in this group. The fibromyalgia is where I go to help, support, listen, care and even laugh. I don't know what I would do without this group." I hate this feeling. I don't even know what to write. I'm just feeling depressed and have a hard time finding a reason to get up in the morning. Sorry for being a downer. I just had to get this out in the open.

I am sorry you are so low, but I am glad that you posted about it so you can get our support. It may feel like it's never going to go away, but it will. I know how it feels and it's rotten. Try to set one little goal for now that won't overwhelm you.

Do you think you should call your PDoc about a medication change or dose change?

You aren't a downer, you just don't feel good. I'm very sorry you are feeling depressed. It's good that you are reaching out to us. Take it minute by minute and know that it's not going to last forever. If you have felt like this for awhile, you should probably call your psychiatrist and let him know. You may need to adjust something. We are here for you so keep posting. We'll keep you company. I hope you feel better very soon.

Thanks. Pdoc's out of town this week. I'm calling his office Friday to see if they can get me in next week. Fingers crossed.

Isn't that the truth, I work with my therapist and support group on my goals. It feels great when I am able to do something even though my anxiety is trying to shut me down and my depression is telling me I'm bad and my mania is telling me to just go do something that feels good/self-distructive.

It is good to have the medication and the therapy to deal with it.

Sorry to hear you are feeling so down, Tracey. I understand the feeling. It can be so hard. I'm hoping that you will feel better soon and I'm praying for you. Is there anyone at your Pdoc's office now so that you can make the appointment for next week now instead of waiting until Friday? Feel better and sending you a giant ((((HUG))))!

~Tracy
