MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

I'm looking for an answer but I expect the same outcome. I have lived this life of dire circumstance, sadness, heartache, and struggle to just be diagnosed with being bipolar??? Maybe the whole world is bipolar. You know. I view myself as someone with too much bottled up on the inside. So much more than everyone else and though, yes I understand that there is someone out there suffering more, but that doesn't mean that we share the same limits for pain and suffering. When I feel like this, my insides hurt literally. I can feel living killing me from the outside in and if I'm not the only one who feels this way, than maybe it is the common expectations and standards of the living world that are TRULY mentally ill and not us. Maybe we are the only few who can see the world for what it really is. Pain and suufering throughout with only minor spurts of joy throughout. If this website can offer me some helpful feedback please do. I feel like this is my last resort..

It sounds as if you are in a depressive stage right now. Have you started meds for bipolar yet? It takes some time to get the right doses for each person. A therapist, a good one, would be really helpful. I don't know what I'd do without mine. I get really good conversation from him without judgement. Which is what this place provides as well.

You are right we all have different suffering/pain thresholds. It can get better after some treatment from a pyschiatrist with meds and good therapy. Don't settle for one you don't click with. It took me many, many tries to find the right one for me. It was a lot of suffering while waiting too but I must say it was worth it for what I ended up with. My downs aren't as low as they were and that helps me keep hope I can get even better. Have you read the book The Bipolar Survial Guide? It is an excellent tool to use with a therapist. Highlight all that stands out for you and work through it with their help.

hope this helped some. I don't have all the answers for sure but you are not alone here.

I don't fully believe in standard medications or the diagnosis of doctors. After reading on CNN.com that the majority of doctors are willing to give up their profession due to the fact that they will potentially make less money in the future sickens me in unbelievable ways. I realize that no matter which doctor I go to, I always leave with two things though I never feel any better, a prescription and a bill. I grew up believing that doctors cared about their patients, but I no longer believe it applies to today's society. They no longer care to cure anything. Only to provide any type of sedation for the mind and body. Stevie, I swear what means the most to me is to know that I'm not alone. Thnk you so much from the bottom of my heart...

Thanks Collenj. Just trying to jump in and do what I see others doing here. I'm still a bit shy though.
