I'm an Advocate

I'm at day six taking 900mg of Lithium.

Every day the tiredness and lethargy seem to lift a little more. I still feel it some though its much better than when I started. I won't know my level until Tuesday when I get my blood work done. I'm hoping I won't have to go higher since right now I''m not experiencing too many side effects. I remember my first experience where I was started at something like 900-1000mg and I was a total mess. I had to take cogentin to stop the tremors. The cogentin was worse than the lithium and only make things worse.

The side effects were horrible to say the least. I have a new pdoc now and she is very good so I trust her when it comes to my meds. she is very good about not over medicating me. So far going up slowly on the Lithium has worked well. I hope to continue to improve over the coming weeks Smile

Well thats my update

Hope everyone has a great weekend

peace & hugs

Sounds like you are doing well so far. I'm glad the lethargy has lifted and it's getting better. You will know more when you get those blood tests done. I hope you don't have to go any higher because of what you experienced before, but like you say, you trust your psychiatrist. I hope it keeps getting better for you. I have my fingers crossed.
