MDJunction to me

tomboykimi"What MD Junction means to me is a place where i can feel like im not alone. As someone with something as rare as hydrocephalus, it feels like im the only one in the world with it. When i came to MD, its like everyone has it. It doesnt feel like im alone. And that people need to hold up a sign to say what i have, because people know. And they understand. I can get questions answered from people who have been through it rather than from doctors or people who only can tell you from a physical standpoint. THat is what MD junction means to me." Hello everyone!!

I am doing super well at the moment on seroquel and abilify. Feeling amazing and coming out of my depression.

However I feel really bored at the moment. Almost desperate to have fun...see friends, meet men etc etc.

I don;t want to do anything to jepordise my balance at the moment, so not too many late nights etc.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to increase my social life and more excitement in my life? I just want to use all this energy I now have and take advantage of my new found lust for life!

Thanks

Yes, what is your age and what do you enjoy? Going to a coffee shop, listening to live music, taking a class all seem to me too meet people. I have met people this way. I also go out with a few old friends every once in awhile and I meet new friends there too. I don't consider them close friends, but it's someone to do things with. I sure there will be many more suggestions!! Hugs

I am from a small community but here are things I started doing: bought a new horse (very time consuming and I am outdoors a lot plus it is very satisfying and fun!), pottery classes and jewlery classes at local art studio, yoga at community center, book reading club at local bookstore, volunteer at animal shelter, went back to college, walks down our main street which has very interesting unique shops to look around in. I am sure there are many other things that I don't think about since they are not available in my community. Congrats on feeling so much better and good luck to you! Sieze the day!

The weather is getting nicer so you could go for walks, the beach soon, find clubs/bars that are having entertainment outside those are always fun (you dont have to drink to have fun), Karaoke, all of the above ideas are great. Enjoy yourself as stated above...Sieze the Day!

I take classes - there are so many out there; you can also normally audit (attend but not for credit - so no assignments) college and university classes if you want a different kind of class then Angela mentioned.

A couple of years ago (okay I'll admit it was probably inspired by my mania) I signed up to run a marathon to raise money for the Arthritis Society. I had to plan fund raising activities and train and then got to go to China and run a marathon (26.2 miles) on the Great Wall of China! They have all sorts of these things available - biking, walking etc of all distances for all fitness levels. It was a great long term activity and I met tons of people. I'd never run before (and will never again I must admit) and was pretty out of shape... so anything is possible!

To be original is to try to do the same things that everybody else does, and fail.
