For me I get pretty depressed, get urges to cut, or sometimes get suicidal.

What kind of things do you do to get your mind off your mind...lol? I've started beading, making necklaces and braclets. I am even weaving this beaded something...not sure what it will be. But I tend to start things and then eventually stop and give up on it. But I am trying.

I do a lot of reading, and of course spending time online. Smile

I've got yardwork to do and my pets and chickens to look after.

I spend a majority of time online on Facebook. I interact with my old friends, read what is going on in their lives, and send messages to see how they are doing. Some people play games on there, it's really popular and you get hooked. I'm not much of a game player, but I did enjoy Farkle for awhile. Other than that, I read, take pictures, browse the mall, or clean. Beading sounds really fun, maybe I'll try that one. I wish you luck!! Talk anytime to me if you need to, I'm friendly!! Have a great day!!

I think crafts are a popular solution around here. Smile I'm a scrapbooker. I can distract myself for a rather large chunk of time by just sitting down with some photos and paper.

Crafts are great. I love to model and paint and write music. It's so therapeutic. Sitting quietly creating is the peaceful. As long as I don't become obsessive about it. that's tricky when hyper-focus kicks in.
God grant me the serenity

courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

I am a huge nerd so I do alot on my computer and cell phone. I really dont have any other hobbies, I was never into hobbies much if I started things I never got too into them and didnt finish them and not finishing things frustrated me more so I stopped starting new hobbies lol.
I suffer from Rapid Progressive MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy, Migraines, Neuropathy, IBS, Narcolepsy, Arrythmia, Arthritis and too much more complete list on profile.

I'm not currently active due to many personal and medical issues. I will not be participating in MDJ for awhile, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone. I hope everyone is well and I appreciate all of the thoughts, kind words and messages. I have tried to respond as much as possible and apologize if I have not gotten back to everyone. Facebook. That's all I'm going to say. Facebook.

Actually, while I do spend way too much time on facebook, I'm also ridiculously busy doing other stuff, so I don't really have to slow down and think too much on how I'm feeling, unless it's really having an impact on my performance. But, to procrastinate, I watch movies, watch South Park online, Hulu, play mahjong solitaire, actual solitaire, draw, write my stories, journal, clean my room, surf the various forums I'm on, check my bank balance, make a to-do list, etc. When I have time (like, during winter break), I settle down and plunge into reading something that isn't required for class. Smile

Regrets are a fool's way of wasting time.

I am not a doctor. Any advice I give is from personal experience and should be neither taken as fact (without references) or something that will work perfectly for you. Everyone is different.

It's really all what you like to do. For me I don't always have patience to read so what I do to distract myself is I listen to books online while doing other things. I am a hairstylist and I work for myself but when I'm not doing hair, I make hair pieces and veils for weddings. I find it really relaxing and I enjoy finishing a project. I think for me it's great to do things that don't take a long time to do. If I start something and I don't have the time to finish it or I get distracted with something else then I feel like I didn't really accomplish what I wanted to and I don't like that feeling. But if I give myself enough time and I stay focused then I can usually finish and I feel good about myself because it is one more thing I finished and I can cross it off my list to things to do or what I wanted to do for the day.
