Does anyone have any tips in how to cope with anger when you have to be in an environment where you have to be professional at all times and the very persons you are angry with are often times at arms length? I don't know what to do anymore, but I'm close to blowing my top today.

I care. I used to have major irritability and emotional problems before I was diagnosed Bipolar II. I would snap, even throw things and then I'd feel really stupid and embarrassed about it. I would hurt people's feelings and say things I really didn't mean to say. I take an antipsychotic now along with my other meds and it helps out so so much. Lets see, ways of dealing with anger. It's very very hard to do. I can suggest slow deep breaths, count to 10, walk away for awhile, and try to ignore the people ticking you off. I know, it's not that easy. I find myself getting irritated at times over someone that sneezes all of the time, but "doesn't" have allergies. I just have to take some breaths and move on. Are you on any medications? Talk to your doc and see what he suggests to you. He will know what will help with the situation regarding meds. I wish you luck in this awful feeling of anger. You talk, I'll listen if you need it!!

I am all too familiar with anger and the high blood pressure and added stress it brings. I have learned over time to choose my battles so to speak and only engage when it is something that I feel strongly about; otherwise I am putting myself in a situation that is going to shave a few years off my life and give me one more gray hair which is definitely something I don't need! Klonipin helps me; lol... Hugs to you!!

You're in a tough situation, having to work so closely with those who piss you off. I care, but don't have any real good advice for you, I'm sorry. But, I don't think I would deal well with it either.

Thanks for the support all. Joy75, to answer your question, I do take medication but this is a situation where coping skills are needed since medication is not the cure all. I don't know how to turn off my feelings when I'm feeling super strong about whatever I'm pissed off about. My fear is I'm going to eventually feed into what those few a--holes want me to do..they want me to explode to give them more of a reason to try to get rid of me since they never accepted me from the getco..I'm not a part of their managerial vision..for what reason? I haven't a clue! I hope that eventually karma will slap them in the ass and this bs will be over with. I'm getting ever tempted to mess with them for f--king with me and that's not right. I tend to get very rebellious when folks try to mess with me.

I wish you luck in dealing with these assholes and them trying to get to you. That is basically discrimination if they just don't accept you. I'm sure you do your job and that it makes it very difficult at times. I am lucky to have a job that no one bothers me. Karma will get them in the end. As far as messing with them, two wrongs don't make a right. But, sometimes it does make you feel a lot better. Just don't give them a bigger reason to mess with you. I really hope that you find a way to cope with this. Try out some of the suggestions given here and update us on how it's going. Hope you feel better!!

People frequently did not like me in my jobs either. There are just some people who are not going to like you in life, and it sounds mean, but we have to suck it up. After all, I'm sure you don't like everyone who comes along. And I know I don't either. There is no easy answer, some people just suck. Sorry, I'm not more positive.
