I've been awake since 2am, it's almost 6. The dog woke me up. I've tried going back to sleep...no dice. I can't figure out why this happens. I can get to sleep, but if something wakes me up - I'm up, regardless of how sleepy I am. I don't think I'm Hypo or anything. I feel fine. Hell if I know what causes this. Maybe it's my sleep-wake cycle? I normally wake up a 4am for work.

What to do - what to do? I've got laundry going, I've started a new book. "Madness", it seems like it'll be good.

Does this happend to anybody? If so, what do you do about it? What can we do, right? I see the NyQuil ads on here...those guys can sleep. Maybe I should have taken NyQuil, lol.

I guess I'll just sit on the couch and drink coffee 'til people wake up. Cheers!Sideways

I suffer with chronic insomnia. So I know where you're coming from. Usually I can't fall asleep til after 1am, then I'm up at 3:30ish, and can't get back to sleep.

I know it sucks royally. Hopefully this won't become a trend for you. I wouldn't wish insomnia on anyone

I also have this problem.Wish I knew why but I can't figure it out. Sometime I take a couple Benadryl have a snack and then go back to bed. the broken up sleep does not really give me the rest I need. My pdoc gave me some samples of Seroquil XR 50m and that works great but I'm all out.

I'm going to call her tomorrow and see if I can have her call in a script for it. It also helps with my mood and energy level. I have zyprexa but it make me depressed when it wears off. I took some last night because I couldn't sleep and today I don't feel like doing much of anything.

I am the serial insomniac ... it strikes time and time again Laughing seriously, I totally understand where you're coming from and it's aweful. I wake on average 3-5 times a night, sometimes I can't go back to sleep even though my eyes feel like sandpaper. Even when I do get back to sleep, I'm never getting more than 4 hours straight sleep. I also land up going to bed late, Patrick and I share the insomnia curse.

In your case, it may be that your body's used to waking up round that time and goes into "stay awake mode".

Your wife's probably happy about the laundry Wink Well, I wish you good sleep, hope it doesn't happen again.

I took the equivalent of Nyquil and it sent me so far off the radar I landed on another planet !!

I was able to catch about 90 minutes of sleep earlier. Still tired. On the bright side, I got all the laundry done. So I've got that going for me.

I do that all the time. Like right now. 5 am no reason after tossing and turning all night. Woke up 4 or 5 times but was able to fall back to sleep.
