MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

I have read Bipolar 101. That was a really helpful book for me to have a good overall learning tool.

I just bought Bipolar Disorder Demystified. I hope to learn more to help myself out.

Have any of you read any books on Bipolar and what books have you read, I don't care if it's memoires, fiction or a self help book.

Well I read a few book called Madness Madness is by Marya Hornbacher. That has to be the best bipolar book I have ever read. It's about her dealing with Bipolar I with rapid cycling, since she was kid.

Another would be an Unquiet Mind by Kay Jamison. Smile

Hope I helped. Smile

I have the eBook for Bipolar II, so far so good. It's about channelling your hypomania. I also started reading the DBT book for Bipolar disorder.

An Unquiet Mind is a staple, but Dr. Kay Jamison also has a really cool book called Touched With Fire. It's about different famous families and their creativity and their family trees and who had depression, bipolar, etc. I like books like that that talk about famous authors, artists, etc. with our illness.

Bipolar II by Ronald Fieve was also good because it talks about all the positives that can come from the hypomanias in the illness.

Found this site when I was looking for a moodtracker. Ignore the name of the URL, it was a bad choice, but there are many books that look interesting on that site.
