"Dual Diagnosis" (yourfriend1)

MDJunction to me

suebaby41"I was recently diagnosed with Recurrent Breast Cancer In The Chest
Wall. I would not be able to handle it as well as I am without the
help of my MDJunction friends. It just proves to me that there are
lots of good people in this world and I am happy to be involved with
MDJunction who seems to have most of them.

I'll just copy/paste what I said in my profile:

I'm 16 years old and I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at age 12. Before I got treatment I would hurt people, including myself, and break things.

I'm feeling better now, but the treatment can only help so much. I used to hurt myself a lot, but no so much anymore. I still have crippling feelings of anxiety, depression, and low self esteem.

I still get moods swings, although they're not as violent anymore. My friends try to be supportive, but the only one who really knows how I feel is my mother as she went through the same thing.

I know I'll never be completely rid of the disorder, but I wanted to join a group that understood how I was feeling.

Same here I misdiagnosed at 13 when I was put in outpatient therapy (like rehab for kids and teens) for about 2 months I was there for only having severe clinical depression and ADHD (had that all my life diagnosed at like 5 and anxiety disorder with OCD tendencies). I also self injured since I was 11. Recently I was able to stop I haven't even had thoughts even when things have gotten hard thanks to therapy and the right meds. I got so angry in the past I yelled, hurt peaple and myself, threw things, broke things, skipped school. It was bad. I'm not rid of the disorder either but I'm better I've made huge strides in the past 2 years since I was hospitalized. I'm so glad that you've joined this website and this group. People here are so supportive and kind I hope you stick around and come here for advice. Smile
