On Trileptal for 2 weeks. Vertigo/dizziness now?

I was taken off Depakote 2 weeks ago, and I was put on 600 mg of Trileptal. Seemed to work great at first! Had itching BAD at 1 week, but it went away within a few days. Yesterday and today I've had the worst dizziness/vertigo. It's already been two weeks...is it normal for reactions to not come up til now? Don't know whether to stay on it or come off.

I also take celexa60 mg, Klonipin2mg for my bipolar/ panic. Not sure there's anything that will work for me...that doesn't just make it more uncomfortable. Very frustrated! Has anybody gotten over these symptoms and done well on Trileptal?

Sportsnutim Posts: 138 Member	Hello, I take Trileptal 1500mg and Lithium 900mg daily. I used to have serious dizzy spells after taking my meds especially in the morning. For me anyway I had to drink more water about three glasses full or else. I am unsure in your case. It can't hurt anyway. not sure about trileptal...my doc upped my seroquel 200mg and about a month later I broke out in a weird rash..I stopped it and the rash went away.doc said he's never heard of that. anyway it could be a side effect that just happened to pop up now.

It was 300 mg. and the doc had us try taking for three days and then off for one day, repeating that cycle. Again, can't remember the side effect but it went away. Hi all, I took trileptol and too had awful side effects on it due to low sodium levels...he put me on lamictal, so we'll see what happens now. Dazed

I take 600 mg every night and another 300 if needed during the day. My pdoc put me on it to help control my anger/aggressiveness. It works very well for that. I've not had any side effects other than a sedated feeling. If I take it during the day, I take 1/4 pill at a time until I am calmed down again.
