Hi,

I'm Lori and I am new to this group. I am currently working toward being on the "right" dosage of lamictol and I wondered if anyone else experiences enhanced dreaming as a "side effect" of this med? My dreams really deal with skeltons in my closet - at least at first - now they are just plain disturbing and sometimes scary and I am finding that I wake up depressed after my dreams. Does anyone else have this going on?

Thank you,

Lori

I don't take lamictal but I have very vivid dreams. They are very realistic and alot of the times can be extremely hard to handle. So I know what you are going through with the dreams. I do not know if it is a side effect of the lamictal or not as I am not taking it. I have woken up screaming and crying before. So I definitely understand.

I think I posted a few days ago about my crazy dream. basically I had to go pick I guess my older two up?? can't remember that part. The twins had all this stuff and they were standing on the side walk. One came running at me covered in a black blanket. So I grabbed her(to put her in her car seat) and she squirmed, I looked up to make sure my other twin was still where she was away from the street. When I looked up both twins were standing there. I was scared and I went to remove the blanket and I woke up. I was completely freaked out. I have given it alot of thought because I believe dreams are your minds way of working through stuff. I had a miscarriage before I had my twins and it was emotionally devastating. I have been wanting a tattoo for my husband and kids and I never knew if I should add something for the one I lost. I guess that was a yes.

I'm on Lamictal and before I started it I never remembered my dreams. Now that I'm on it, I dream vividly almost every night. Sometimes they are good dreams, sometimes they are really scary.

When I first started taking lamictal I also had CRAZY vivid dreams. They eventually went away though...maybe they will for you as well.

I had HORRIBLE nightmares on Wellbutrin. that's why I stopped taking it. Now, on lamictal, I have lots of dreams but not really scary like before. I have been on it for approx. 2-2.5 months....maybe you just have to get used to it. But, I definitely know it's not fun.
