My husband is taking Ritalin and Depakote right now for his ADD & severe mood swings. I don't know any other way to approach the topic, so I'm jumping right in... does anybody know if any of these drugs are known to cause sexual side effects? My husband and I used to have 'relations' like jackrabbits, but now hardly at all. He blames the meds.

I just find it interesting how he seems to have lost interest after I kicked him out of the place we were living together because I was still in the military, and they were forcing me to get a divorce. I told him to go home and get help. Then there were rumors of him sleeping around when I kicked him out, when we got back together.

But, no more sex now? Unless I have to beg?

I'm a bit confused, anybody have any insight?

Is this the disease at work?

Roughn, talk with your doctor about this, there might be other reasons for feeling like that, although I suspect it might be my meds, as I take a bunch of them for not only the bipolar, with me I figure it could be age as well, I am 48.

Huagabalou...from what you are saying I think there is more than bipolar, or med side effects at work. Counseling might help if you want the marriage to work. You use your good judgment on this one. Begging for sex??? Naaaawww. I would say there is something wrong here...you shouldn't have to beg.

Why not reassess your marriage and its expectations. Some real adjustments may need to be made. I hope for you, that things work out. They will if you give your effort toward gaining understanding and support. Like you are doing....hugs,
