MDJunction to me

jpcrps"When I found MD Junction, I was in the beginning stages of RSD/CRPS. I was scared, lacked knowledge about the condition, and felt very alone.

MD Junction changed all of that for me. I found friendship and terrific information from people who had first-hand knowledge of this syndrome. It was and still is a big part of my life.

MDJ was my first step on the journey of grief; from denial to acceptance. I am now inspired to help others by sharing this amazing site and sharing my own experiences. I am very impressed that one forum site can provide hope and inspiration to people suffering from so many different conditions. I am proud to be a part of this community.

I just stopped taking Abilify and got put on Seroquel instead. I've read that weight gain is pretty common with this. Can anyone tell me if they're on this and if they've gained weight or not??? Or is that just something they put down with all meds? Blink

Ive been on seroquel for 5 years and never gained a lb from it. I have heard of this happening to others though. Side effects of these meds are different for everybody. If it is a big concern for you ask your doc for some suggestions or see if theres another drug for you that doesnt cause weight gain.Smile

I gained a bunch of weight really quickly when I was on seroquel, but I changed my eating habits and I lost weight again. Also my body got used to the seroquel which may have helped. At first I got scared after gaining the weight and stopped taking seroquel, but I decided that I really do like it and I just need to figure something out about my eating.

I'm on seroquel and have been for several years....during this time I have been a fatty and my regular size too...I don't think the times I've gained weight are because of the seroquel but because of the depression....

I recently gained a bunch of weight, which I am now trying to lose using my new recumbent exercise bike from amazon!

I have taken Seroquel for about 6 years. During that time I had taken various other meds with Seroquel. Depakote caused a lot of weight gain for me, and when it was discontinued I lost a lot of weight (without any other changes) while still on Seroquel, so I don't blame it for the weight gain. They say it makes you want to eat a lot, but I take it at bedtime so it doesn't have a chance to make me eat everything in sight.

Yeap Seroquel caused me to put on a great deal of weight. Am now trying to diet and recently went onto Lithium. Strangely enough the Lithium seems to have toned down the appitite.
