I've been on Abilify for 2 weeks now and the insomnia is so bad I'm lucky if I get 2 hours sleep a night and that's with taking Temazepam 20mg! Usually I am a bad sleeper waking between 3 and 8 times a night but can pretty much fall back to sleep again in half an hour. But on the Abilify I am wide awake after 2 hours sleep then feel drained from the afternoon then I go to bed at 8 because I'm shattered then I'm up at 10 til the following night this has been going on for 2 weeks now and I'm wondering when or if it will end. My psychiatrist tells me to take it in the morning if that makes any difference. Help!

Taking it in the morning could help. That would give it time to be working it's way out of your system by the time you go to bed.

Hope it helps.

On 5mg I could sleep with it but on 10mg and above it was seriously affecting my sleep with taking it at night. I had to switch to morning dosing despite this meaning missed doses because I have trouble remembering morning meds.

I take 5 mgs of Abilify in the morning, i've also been given a small dosage of Seroquel to use as a sleep aid (25 mgs) this has helped, i kept waking up in the night now i don't wake up hardly at all. I wish you well.

ive been taking it in the morning all along usually at 4am and still have the insomnia. i think the temazepams have lost their effects as ive been on them nightly for 3 years now so i might ask my doctor to change my sleeping meds to see if that helps. thanks everyone Smile
