Thanks for that Scooby, its interesting. Can do a bit of working out the percentages of each disorder. Well if the diagnosing and prescribing is on the ball.

That was interesting. I saw some of my meds, but not all. Hmmm. Wonder what that means.

I'm glad to see Zoloft isn't very a popular choice! Only because it didn't work for me...and possible sent me into MORE of a downward spiral. I took it for 2 months and ended up in the hospital. Yeesh. A little off-topic, but that was fun to look at.

I am on zoloft and it would be making my manic but for the zyprexa and trileptal. I think it's working for me, but I also take lamictal for the depression. Hard to tell. My pdoc monitors it pretty closely. But I know it can be a real problem Effexor put me right into a hypomanic state. Didn't sleep for several days and I was put on lithium to bring me down. Couldn't stay on it, though. That's why I am on the zyprexa. It just goes to show how we all react differently to meds.

Zyprexa can be a wonder drug for somebody like you. It was a strange sort of drug for me. Seroquel works for me. Effexor didn't work for me, also made me hypomanic. Lithium worked maybe a short while for you. I've been on it over 30 years. We're both on Lamictal but for different reasons: you want help with your depression, I want more from it, both stability (life without mania that destroys).

A bunch of meds and you and I had different experiences on most all of them. What is the saying, "What is good for the goose isn't good for the gander."

Which of us is goose and which gander?

Well thanks to the Gods above. I am now stable! Great. Well I hope it lasts as still early days as yet.

Got my Lamical up to 200mgs once in the am, and after eight days of the 200mgs I became relativly sane again. GREAT.

For those interested I also take 175mgs of Seroguel.

Zyprexa is great for mania. It was great for me, when I was in an instution here (Private thank heavens). I begged the psychiatrist to "shut me down" otherwise I would go catatonic.

I now understant that on rare instances that a person with Bipolar

disorder can go catatonic. Not a way I would want to go!

The current cocktail I take:

300mg Lamictal

15mg Zyprexa

150mg Zoloft

300mg Trileptal

12.5 Ambien, if needed

My wonderful pills are wellbutrin 150 mg, seroquel xr mg 300, buspar 15mg and visteril 50ml.

but i stil get depressed and all whats the point
