I think that's how to describe my mood, flat line. I am going to schedule an appointment with my doctor. Right now I am on lithium, max I am able to take a day (1800 MG). I don't feel down anymore and that's a plus and I like that it stopped me from going manic... But I have some issues. I have a very flat line, duel personality. I used to get pumped up and work out, run, hike, now I just feel blah. I also sleep longer at night. I had a very out going personality. I used to enjoyed things that I don't enjoy anymore.

I feel like I need medication that brings me up a little, what medicine would it be a good idea to ask my doctor about. I want medicine ideas so I can research too.

Thanks

/hugs

I felt the same way on Lithium. I asked my doctor about Lamictal because I heard it didn't cause weight gain...he said it was more for the depressive end of bipolar (I have more problems with mania) so he didn't think it was appropriate for me...so maybe that one would help, cause it sounds like there is some depression, at least as far as the not enjoying things you used to. Are you taking any other meds with Lithium? Maybe an added antidepressant would help.

It's possible that an added antidepressant would help, but it's also possible that your lithium dose just needs to be lowered. When I fist started taking lithium, I was taking 900mg daily, which made me feel similarly flat, along with a ton of other side effects that pretty much made me miserable. My pdoc lowered my dose to 600mg, and it has been infinitely better so far. Definitely talk to your doc and see what your options are - because there are a ton of them! One of them will work, it's just a matter of finding the right one Smile
