MDJunction to me

JAYEPAWS"It means that finally I have someone to relate too. that I'm not the only one with these kind of problems. it really feels good not to be alone in this. I've made some good friends. I appreciated the support that I have found here at this site,

where as other parts of my life I don't get.
Thank you for being there & creating this site.

I just joined this site yesterday. I was just diagnosed with bipolar yesterday (even though I was in denial of having it for years now). I was started on Lamotrigine of 25mg two times a day and upping it to 100 mg in 2 weeks. I go back to see the psychiatrist on Sept. 15. She also gave me Xanax for an anxiety attacks between now and than. I've only taken 2 of the Lamotrigine so far..last night and this am. I feel kind of out of it..not tired..kind of floaty..not like a good high feeling but just blah..not depressed either..hard to explain. I'm in a good mood today as I've finally been diagnosed and hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel after 32 yrs (I'm 37 but have felt depressed since I was 5). I hope this med works for me .. if not I have faith that eventually something will.

Karma, this is great that you are in a good mood. You have a nice positive attitude. You are looking at medications the right way by saying if this doesn't work, you will try something else till it does. It may take a long time to get the right mix but be patient, you will get there. I think you will be able to hang in there no matter what. Lamictal is a good drug, so hopefully it will work well for you. Good luck.
