Love klonipin...it is the standard medication for dysautonomia. But my pdoc says it isn't good for me (I disagree), so I can't get it right now. It helped me sleep too.

I take tegretol 400 mg every night and that helps me sleep...True I used to take a little dose of benadryl liquid before I went to bed,and it would make me sleep for about 4 hours..Good luck...Southern10

justme you are mistaken about klonipin, not klopin, and seroquel. They are two completely different classes of medication. Klonipin is a benzodiazapine, sp, and seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic.

Benzos inlude valium, and xanax to name a few and are used in the treatment of anxiety and sometimes as a sleep aid. Atypical antipsychotics are basically mood stabilizers for bipolars and schizophrenics.

Be sure you know what you are saying before publishing online, no offense intended, because many people may not be seeking constant medical care and will mistake information from this site as the truth.

For those of you having the constipation problem with seroquel I had it too and it was the worst! I took an otc stool softener 3 times a day for over 2 years but I found that a daily dose of the generic brand of Metamucil worked the best and now I only take it as needed.

WOW I have just recently started seroquil and I Love it, but I dont want to gain any weight, I just worked really hard to lose 20lbs. But I havent noticed any weight gain, so hopefully I can start excersising every day and avoid the weight gain. Other than that it does exactly what i need it to, but my doctor said it was supposed to help me sleep as well, but it really dosent so I have to get something for that.

My husband weighed himself today and he has lost 6 kgs ! so it dosnt seem to have that effect on him. Although he has been working till 12 at night (when he is struggling with his bipolar, he copes by becomming a workaholic) so I would imagine that would be why he has lost the weight! not good

Seroquel was prescribed for my insomnia, along with Lexapro and Lamictal for my BPD. It is one of the best sleeping aids I have had. The first week I did have the groggy, morning after, lol, but not since then. Seroquel = GREAT!!!!( but may be because of the interaction with Lamictal & Lexapro)

i hate lexapro. it sent me in to this stupid state i'm in right now but maybe it's because taking with lyrica (sucks!!!!!) and without mood meds. bad. shouldn't have taken meds from my gp. knew it was bad but wanted to just be "depressed"--not bp, know what i mean?
